From Your Principal's Office

Letter From the Principal:

July 18, 2019

Dear Enderly Heights Families:

It is an honor to introduce myself as the new principal of Enderly Heights Elementary School and to join this extraordinary school family.  I hope this letter finds you well and enjoying your summer with family and friends! I am looking forward to continuing the success EHES has experienced and bringing a collaborative spirit towards a productive and rewarding 2019-2020 school year.

As your new Principal, I am committed to building relationships with our students, faculty and staff, families and community, and in continuing the tradition of excellence of Being a "Blue". In partnership with our dedicated staff and supportive parents we will continue to help develop our students in their intellectual capacity, academic skills and social competence so they will be prepared to effectively negotiate the demands associated with living in an ever-changing 21st Century. Beyond the rigors of our academic program, it is our aim to instill within each student the essential principles of pride, respect, and responsibility. Our hope is that each student will grow as eager, life-long learners who are compassionate human beings and productive contributing members of our increasingly global society.

High expectations, which have been established by our qualified and devoted staff, will be maintained while also providing a safe and nurturing student-centered community. At EHES, we will strive to make the learning process a positive and rewarding experience, as I firmly believe that every child can excel and the partnership between home and school is essential in building the confidence in students to engage in their own learning to shape their future and the future of our community.

I have been privileged to have worked in the BVCPS for a year as an Assistant Principal at PMHS and this experience brought me insights into the core beliefs and values that underlie the BVCPS school community. It is my goal to explore new ways to meet the needs of all students and to more effectively communicate with parents and community members. I will be meeting with community members, parents, students, and staff throughout the year to identify specific goals in the areas of student achievement, school climate, and parent communication. Our first Meet and Greet is on Thursday, July 18th at our First Annual EHES Pool Party at the Glen Maury Pool from 6pm-8pm. I can’t wait see everyone there. Then on the 1st Tuesday of each month we will continue our conversations with our gatherings entitled:
Finding Common Ground: Coffee and Conversation with the Community at 9:00am in the EHES Library.

To our students, I cannot wait to meet you all! I hope that you are as excited for this upcoming school year as I am and that you are out this summer playing and reading lots of books with your family and friends. We are going to have a wonderful adventure learning together this year. If you are near the school this summer, please stop by and say hello!

In closing, please know that my door is always open to you, I heartily welcome your conversations and positive input throughout the year as we always put our students at the forefront of our work together. As partners in the education of our students, together, we determine the future and The Best is YET to COME: We are Enderly Strong!
